Duqm Refinery Students begin their 18-month, in-depth training at TPO
Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company L.L.C. Students begin their 18-month, in-depth training at Takatuf Petrofac Oman Training Institute.
17th March 2019, Muscat, Oman: 190 students from Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company L.L.C arrived at Takatuf Petrofac Oman Training Institute to begin their 18-month training programme. Duqm Refinery is a joint venture between Oman Oil Company and Kuwait Petroleum International.
Their training includes 6-months of intensive technical English and technical mathematics studied alongside the City and Guilds Level 1 IVQ in Health and Safety followed by 12-months of in-depth technical training leading to the international awards accredited by City and Guilds: Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma in Oil and Gas Operations.
Duqm Refinery students are specialising in one of four areas leading to their future roles as Process Technicians, Instrumentation Maintenance Technicians, Electrical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Maintenance Technicians with hands-on experience of working at TPO’s on-site live plants and using TPO’s state-of-the-art on-site control rooms.
